Get Inspired: Pure Minimalism

Minimalism is a modern architectural concept that appeared at the beginning of the 19th century. It came as a movement to bring simplicity and boldness to architecture and design and as a revolution against the decorative arts that proceeded which consist primarily on the famous Art Deco and it’s complex nature inspired ornaments.
Minimalism was adopted primarily in architecture and interior design but it rippled to touch other forms of art whether it’s the visual arts (graphic design, photography…), fashion, industrial products design and even music.
The expression “Less is more” was invented by German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe who was one of the founding fathers of minimalism in architecture and interior design. It invites us to look at things in a different way and to find beauty and comfort in simplicity.
